I could not find where we could give our testimony regarding our experience with Halco…so I’m putting it here…We have been customers of Halco for several years, always happy with service. In fact, the customer service is outstanding. We recently had an energy audit done by Will Graeper, he was very professional, explained everything in a simple, well understood manner. Our audit proved to be helpful, and because of the outcome, we are having the insulation blown under our manufactured home. Thank you Halco for your dependable, professional service.

Yesterday Dave came to do some plumbing work, after coming last week for my yearly furnace service. As usual, your work was good and Dave is a great guy to deal with, so this email is not about a problem with anything. I share ownership of this property with my sister and try to keep track of my expenses related to the house. I also used both of my service agreements for the furnace and for the plumbing work for my sump pump. Then, on top of that, I paid for an extra hour or so of labor and for some materials. Is it possible to itemize or at least provide me with something to show my total cost for both of these visits, to include the total for my pre-paid services and for the additional costs. I would be very appreciative if you could help me when you have the time. Again, I am very pleased with your service over the years. Although all of your people are always nice, Dave was exceptional and I want his boss to know that.

We just wanted to thank you for handling our emergency quickly and efficiently. We own a B&B, with a full house of guests and a sewage pump that was not working. Needless to say, it was an emergency that needed to be dealt with quickly. We were so happy that Steve was the one that came– he is knowledgeable, professional, and did an excellent job. If we could have him do all of our service calls–we would! Thank You Steve!

I wanted to thank you for the team effort of Chad, Jeremy, Shawn and Vince for their technical expertise in the annual inspection and addressing some concerns I had. Also for Jeremy for the energy efficiency analysis, in particular the blower door results. I have since followed through on additional research on my unit and what would be a reasonable payback. With your staff assistance and what I have personally completed, I feel my unit is reasonably energy efficient. If you have any questions of what I have done please have Jeremy provide an update. I have kept him informed. His ‘audit’ motivated me to take action on some hunches I’ve had since we bought the place. Perhaps you were not aware but for four years in the late 1980’s early 1990’s part of my responsibilities were to the Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension in overseeing a contract between the Cornell Agricultural Engineering Department and the State Energy Office. The program was called, Save Energy, Save Dollars. It was about a 1/4 million dollar per month contract with 50+ energy technicians who audited farms, small businesses and not-for-profits throughout NYS, including New York City. The Ag Engineering Department developed many auditing formulas and taught and monitored the technicians as they conducted the audits. Again, thanks to the recent team effort. Dear Hal, Thank you so much for all of your help with our recent furnace/air conditioner situation. My husband and I were particularly impressed with how promptly and professionally everything was handled. From our initial discussion with you to the installation of the units, we could not be more pleased. The crews you sent were professional and courteous and they worked hard to get everything done in one day. This prompt response was particularly important to me because I have multiple sclerosis, which is further aggravated by the heat. I asked Laura if she had mentioned this to you, thinking this had been a factor in how quickly everything was installed, but she said that she never even thought of mentioning it. To Hal Smith and Staff We have been long time Halco customers and are very well acquainted with Halco products and service. Halco installed our first A/C system many years ago as well as our 10kw standby generator and we have been a member of your annual maintenance program. When it was time that both our boiler and A/C needed replacement there was no question as to who we would be contacting. I placed a call to Stephen Hegel who did a comprehensive assessment and analysis of our needs and presented us with an energy efficient program. The program recommendations included the latest technology (Navien Combi Boiler) temperature controlled natural gas, combination boiler and hot water heater and Goodman High Efficiency Air Conditioner Systems. The presentation appeared to be exactly what would be best suited to satisfy our needs. The products, plus the incentives, plus the professional presentation by Stephen Hegel, was more than enough to sign the proposal agreement. Installation was set up to be in two phases. Phase 1 was to install the A/C system and Phase 2 for the boiler installation. I was very impressed by the fact that each phase of the installation had a separate crew and crew leader specialized in that installation. Each crew leader and staff knew exactly what had to be done and everything was done systematically and efficiently. Everyone was friendly, courteous and sensitive to maintaining a clean environment. Both phases were completed without any complications and all systems are performing perfectly. In conclusion: I can’t speak highly enough about the staff that performed the work and especially about Stephen Hegel who was there for us every step of the way from the initial presentation to the completion of the project. He was always available to answer any questions, he was timely and could always be reached. As for Halco. I kind of refer to your company as Halco 911. If I have a problem that is Halco related I know that I can call Halco 911 and I will be greeted by a very courteous person who will know exactly what to do and that my problem will receive immediate attention. We just contracted with your company for the installation of a residential photovoltaic system. We interviewed four installers and chose Halco because of the knowledge of Amanda. Her grasp of both the technical and administrative ends of the installation were head and shoulders above anyone else we interviewed. She knew wire gauges, mounting systems, inverters, the whole shebang. She knows tax credits, NYSERDA required guarantees and monitoring requirements, she even knew the answer to the question of whether the NYSERDA grant amount was counted as income or not. We’ve referred a few friends to your company based largely on our contact with Amanda. By the way, we also met Tim, your installer and I get the feeling we can trust him to do a proper install that will withstand the test of time. So when the time for bonuses is here, put Amanda at the head of the line.

Your crew did a good job doing the work, maintaining a clean house, cleaning up when done and showing me the work they completed. I appreciate all of your work and that you dropped by when the work was going on. I make sure my sales guys do this as well–it makes the customers feel like they are more than a commission check. Chad Druker responded to a service call I made this AM (5/31) because our air conditioner had failed. He came within 1 hour of my phone call and took less than 5 minutes to discover the problem and install a new capacitor. We want to thank Chad for the quality service and the professionalism of this work. He was a pleasant person to talk with and made sure we knew everything that was necessary concerning the repair. Thank you Chad.
