Boiler Repairs for Auburn, NY Customer
This Auburn, NY customer just moved into his house and was running through propane. His floors were always hot, and his high efficient boiler never turned off. Our service technician found a crossed wire on the zone control board that ran out to the customer’s pull barn where his open system coal fired boiler sits. This was turned off, but the crossed wires made a call for heat. Our tech removed the system from the main boiler system, cooling down the room directly above it 8°F while he worked. He also identified a failed expansion tank, a failed air vent, and a missing a back-flow preventer and an automatic water feed/ pressure reducing valve. He replaced the failed parts and installed the two missing parts making the boiler system code compliant. The customer was so happy with the service he decided to become a Halco Maintenance Agreement customer!

Water System Upgrade in Phelps, NY
This Phelps, NY customer contacted Halco because her water was beginning to smell, and she suspected her current filtration system was not working properly. Our tech tested the water and found the hardness to be 90 gpg, the iron to be 5.0 ppm, and the total dissolved solids to be 1000 mg/L, all extremely high levels. The water filtration system she had was not equipped to handle this water quality so we returned to install a twin tank water softener and an iron removal system. We also installed a reverse osmosis system with connections to the ice maker and kitchen sink, which will provide bottle quality water to the customer!

AC Annual Maintenance
Halco service tech performed annual maintenance on this Carrier outside package AC unit in Waterloo, NY. He removed dead mice and a mouse house from the return duct area, cleaned, scrubbed, and inspected evaporator coil, condenser coil, and blower motor, and verified condensate pan drains. He also checked electrical connections and response to thermostat. The AC unit is in working condition upon completion and the customer will stay cool this summer with a system that will last longer and use less energy!
