Halco had come to our home to do some blown in cellulose insulation in our attic and although Ron had gone upstairs and checked several times, the force had blow a light fixture out in the closet and cellulose filled and spilled out of our closet. I recently had tendon and ligament repair and cannot put any weight on my foot and only go upstairs at night, so we had not realized what had happened until Jay came home from work and had gone upstairs. Jay and I put in over 3 hours last night cleaning up the cellulose that overflowed into our bedroom from the closet, but it became just too hard for me on one leg. Ron DeRue from Halco came this morning and finished where we left off and went above and beyond to make things right and when he was done you would never know we had that mess last night – I am beyond grateful. Ron took every single item one by one (and there was ALOT in that closet) and vacuumed them one by one till all cellulose was off- granted I will still be washing them, but he saved hours of tedious labor for me on one leg. I wish I could attach photos so you could see just how much tedious labor this involved. And for our trouble and inconvenience Halco is sending us a gift card for dinner on them. Dear Halco Company Employees, Thank you all for helping us stay safe and warmer. To everyone at Halco – Wishing you all a great Merry Christmas and all the best of the New Year. Berta and I are so happy with our new furnace and heat pump. We love the new coziness-warmth it has given to our home. Huge thanks to Rex, Brett, John, and Sean for the fine tuning of our thermostat to get it functioning just right. My wife no longer mentions that ‘she is so cold’ anymore! Such a welcome new era here after 25 years of her being cold.

This afternoon we had an appointment to have our furnaces cleaned with one of your technicians. His name is Danny. We have always been extremely pleased with your company and with all the different tech’s that have come to service our needs, but Danny was exceptional. He was very, very thorough with his work, extremely kind and very, very considerate. He never hurried but took his time. So we would appreciate you giving him a thumbs up for us. We are giving Danny, 5 stars, and Halco 5 stars. We are so glad to have you on our side for all of our plumbing and heating needs.

Ithaca, NY customers, Charles and Susan, started working with Halco around ten years ago when they had plans to build a home that would utilize geothermal heating and cooling. Well, they ended purchasing a home instead, and that home was using 2,000 gallons of propane a year! They contacted Hal, CEO and owner of Halco, who helped the couple design and retrofit a geothermal system for the home. Right away, the new system took the customers from around $8,000/year in heating costs to less than $2,000/year. After replacing their old propane boiler with geothermal, Charles and Susan added solar to help offset their electricity usage. A few years later they added some more solar, bought an electric car, and now they are very close to net-zero, meaning they are producing just about as much energy as they are using! Recently, the pair hit 100 MWh of electricity produced with their Halco installed solar arrays. To put this number in perspective, 100 MWh is enough to offset 12.3 homes’ electricity use for one year, 7,957 gallons of gasoline consumed, and 77,308 pounds of coal burned! Of this milestone Charles said, “It feels big, it feels like we really did something. Maybe it’s just a little step and we’re only one house and we’re only one family, but we’re doing what we can, we’re doing the best that we can.’ Charles often recommends Halco, stating, “I highly recommend working with Hal Smith because he is an honorable man and he gets the stuff done.
