Furnace Replacement for Ithaca, NY Customer
This customer contacted us with a no heat situation stating his furnace does not stay on long enough to maintain the desired temperature. Upon arrival, we took combustion readings and found CO over 2,000 ppm! We removed the intake and retook combustion readings and the CO dropped to 600 ppm. Our techs pulled the blower motor and found a bad secondary heat exchanger. The furnace was put back together and red-tagged, meaning the unit was shut down due to a critical safety problem. We then sent a home energy advisor to follow up with the customer and he ultimately chose to replace his furnace. We were there just a few days later to get him back up and running, just in time for the cold weather to hit!

Instead of replacing parts and wondering if the boiler would make it through another winter, the customer decided to contact Halco for a replacement. We installed a new Williamson atmospheric vented water boiler and the customer will now have peace of mind knowing they will stay warm this winter!

This Dryden, NY customer had a 30-year-old gas furnace that was drastically over sized at 100,000 btu. We replaced the 80% efficiency, single stage furnace with a 96% efficiency, 60,000 btu, 2 stage furnace. At the same time, we added AC and did a duct cleaning for the customer!

After properly sizing a new system, we installed a natural gas steam boiler that included a prefabbed riser, header and hartford loop. An automatic water feed was also included in this installation.

We installed this Navien high efficiency boiler and moved the water heater to allow for room to install the Navien. We also removed the broken radiators and installed two new ones!

Boiler Repairs for Auburn, NY Customer
This Auburn, NY customer just moved into his house and was running through propane. His floors were always hot, and his high efficient boiler never turned off. Our service technician found a crossed wire on the zone control board that ran out to the customer’s pull barn where his open system coal fired boiler sits. This was turned off, but the crossed wires made a call for heat. Our tech removed the system from the main boiler system, cooling down the room directly above it 8°F while he worked. He also identified a failed expansion tank, a failed air vent, and a missing a back-flow preventer and an automatic water feed/ pressure reducing valve. He replaced the failed parts and installed the two missing parts making the boiler system code compliant. The customer was so happy with the service he decided to become a Halco Maintenance Agreement customer!

Ensuring Proper Venting in Seneca Falls, NY
A Halco service technician was at this Seneca Falls, NY home to perform annual maintenance on the customer’s AC unit. While there, he noticed the landscaping has grown over the furnace and tankless water heater intake and exhaust. He removed the old growth to ensure safe and proper venting of dangerous gases.
