How does radon get into your home?
Radon moves up through the ground and makes its way into your home through cracks and holes in the foundation, construction joints, cracks in walls, gaps around service pipes, gaps in suspended floors, and cavities inside walls. In some cases, radon can even enter the home through well water. Your home traps radon inside where it can build up over time.
Does my home need radon testing?

What is the next step if you DO have a radon problem?
Radon levels are measured in picocuries per liter of air, or “pCi/L.” If levels are greater than 4, the EPA recommends installing a mitigation system. Radon mitigation systems can reduce the levels of radon in your home by up to 99%. Even very high levels can be reduced to acceptable levels with a proper mitigation system.
Most mitigation systems consist of a PVC pipe connected to a specially designed fan that is vented out of your home through the roof.
