  Somewhat. I knew the insulation in our home was inadequate causing energy loss.

  That improving the situation is very expensive and would most likely not add to the overall value/ resale of the house. In this case our project costs were estimated at over $30,000, with an annual savings of $910.00 per year. At that rate, it would take roughly 33 years, assuming a continuous rate of savings over those years, to recoup the investment. We have no plans of staying in this home for 33 years.
