The Adam’s Armor Foundation is pleased to announce a significant step forward in its mission to provide support and comfort to families in need. The foundation has proudly selected a deserving family to receive a new HVAC system installation, furthering its commitment to honoring the legacy of Adam Scott by spreading warmth and compassion within the community.
This year’s recipient, Crystal Howard, is a Dryden, NY resident who discovered Halco through the Sustainable Finger Lakes Pilot program. Faced with a non-functional natural gas furnace, Crystal had been relying on space heaters for years, causing concern for her children’s safety and leading to substantial energy bills. Additionally, she depended on window AC units for cooling.
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Adam’s Armor Foundation, the EmPower+ program, and Halco’s dedicated team, a comprehensive transformation took place. Halco coordinated the entire project and covered the labor while their team executed various upgrades in Crystal’s home. This included air sealing and insulation, installation of energy-efficient LEDs across the house, weatherstripping on doors, fitting a blow-off tube on the water heater, and the installation of a high-efficiency furnace and central air system, ensuring a complete overhaul for the customer’s comfort and safety.
Crystal expressed her gratitude, stating, “The Adam’s Armor Foundation has been a wonderful opportunity for myself and my family. Being able to have a reliable heat source throughout the winter and cooling in the summer is such an amazing feeling. We were using electric heaters and space heaters for the last 3 years to heat our house, and that left me worrying about possible fires all the time, and a huge electric bill.”
