What is The Finger Lakes Climate Fund?

The Finger Lakes Climate Fund is a project of Sustainable Finger Lakes which is a sustainability focused 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Ithaca, NY. The FLCF works to promote clean energy projects in the Finger Lakes area while also strengthening the regional economy and assisting local families in need. The Climate Fund provides a way for people to support our community while offsetting greenhouse gas emissions from their buildings or travel. 

How does The Finger Lakes Climate Fund support the community?

The FLCF accepts carbon offset donations made by individuals and businesses. These go directly towards grants for low-to-moderate income families in the Finger Lakes region to upgrade their homes with energy efficiency features such as air sealing, insulation, heat pumps, and heat pump water heaters. 

How does Halco contribute to The Finger Lakes Climate Fund?

Halco provides the FLCF with an annual donation. Along with our donations, we have even helped a handful of qualifying customers apply for funding through their program so they can have access to clean energy.

After purchasing 35 fuel-efficient Priuses for their fleet, they went a step further and made a $1,000 offset with the Climate Fund. Thanks to their continued support, another Finger Lakes family will soon benefit from renewable energy-powered heating and cooling. Hats off to an amazing partner in the climate movement!
