This customer has relied on a unique combination of a 30 year old electric solar thermal storage system and a wood stove with a hot water coil to provide heat and hot water throughout her Ithaca, NY home.
We replaced this inefficient system with a new Navian Combi 199K BTU boiler/on-demand hot water heater and a Comfort-Aire variable speed air handler!
All new ductwork was installed and we sealed the duct joints with mastic to help prevent air leakage.
To further increase the home’s efficiency, our team used spray foam insulation and air sealed all around the house. Aside from the drastic improvement in comfort that this customer will experience, these measures should serve to cut her electric bill by at least 50%!
