Ithaca, New York customers, James and Diane, take a minute to pose with their newly installed 12-panel solar array. When asked why they decided to "go green" Diane responded, "It's good for the environment. Our usage is pretty low as is, but it's just the right thing to do!" James added that it will be nice not to worry about their monthly bill with all sorts of fluctuations.
Here is customer, James, from Ithaca, NY, with his new 12-panel solar array. Both James and Diane were very pleased and impressed with the installation crews dedication to getting the job done. Diane stated, "The installers were outside in the rain for days and never once stopped working hard!"
This 3360 watt (3.36 kW) grid-connected solar electric system was installed using 12 SolarWorld SW280 solar modules. The array layout is designed to maximize system size while ensuring the system is aesthetically pleasing and well-integrated with the property. As designed, this system should account for approximately 103.8% of the customers current base load usage!
This is the unit's Balance of System (BOS). The BOS is comprised of an SMA transformerless inverter (top), a disconnect switch (bottom right) and the electrical meter (bottom right).
CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions avoided by this new solar panel array are the equivalent to approximately 125,643 miles driven per year in average car, 121 barrels of crude oil per year, or 1,338 trees planted per year!
A few years back, customers James and Diane in Ithaca, NY, were experiencing issues with their circuit breaker panel.
